About Fairmont High School
Established in 1977, Fairmont High School is a beacon of excellence in Cape Town. With 1450+ students and the guidence of its almost 100 teachers, it fosters holistic development in academics, culture, sports, and leadership, promoting values of respect, integrity, and service.
Infintec’s role
Infintec revolutionized Fairmont High School’s manual workflows by developing custom automations using AppSheet. As a Google Partner, they integrated AppSheet seamlessly with Google for Education Plus, optimizing efficiency and productivity.
The challenge
Fairmont High School grappled with labour-intensive manual processes, such as student and staff attendance tracking and academic perfomance metrics and analytics. They sought a solution to automate these tasks and consolidating the captured data in a centralized and secure environment, allowing educators to focus more on teaching and student engagement.
The solution
Infintec streamlined Fairmont’s attendance process by developing custom automations using AppSheet and AppScript. This included tracking morning registers, late arrivals, and in-class attendance. Rule-based alerts notified relevant recipients in real-time. The system also generated attendance statistics for reporting at specified intervals.
The result
Infintec’s AppSheet automation streamlined Fairmont’s manual workflows. The customised attendance tracking app reduced data capture time by more than 40% and virtually eliminated data input errors. The app’s real-time notifications and reporting features addressed attendance problem areas when and where they occurred, with educators experienced newfound efficiency and improved student attendance.
